European Energy Empowered Poland with 83.5MW Wind Portfolio through Enia Nova Energia

European Energy 83.5MW Wind Portfolio in Poland To Enea

Danish renewable energy company European Energy A/S has signed an agreement to sell a portfolio of 83.5 MW of wind farms in northwestern Poland to Enia Nova Energia, a subsidiary of Polish utility Enia SA (WSE:ENA). The deal gives Enia Nova Energia full ownership of EE Pomeranian GmbH, indirectly controlling five wind farms with a capacity of 44.7 MW, and EE Liszkowo Spain, z o.o., which owns the 38.8 MW Liszkowo wind farm.

The six wind farms, equipped with turbines from Siemens Gamesa, GE and Nordex, located in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship, were to be commissioned between 2021 and 2023. The combination of turbine technologies will support long-term performance and power generation in a variety of wind conditions, and the acquisition is in line with the Eni Group’s strategic goals of expanding its renewable energy capacity, transforming it towards a sustainable power generation mix.

The addition of these operational wind farms brings Eni closer to meeting national and EU climate targets as Poland seeks to reduce its reliance on coal, which has been the country’s main source of energy until now.

Known for its active role in the development, construction and investment of renewable energy projects, Eni sees this sale as another milestone in its business model as it focuses on accelerating the green transition through continuous reinvestment in new clean energy projects.

With this sale, Eni adds capital to reinvest in its growing project pipeline across Europe and other markets, while Eni Nowa Energia strengthens its renewable energy footprint with proven assets already generating power for the Polish grid.

Strategic significance for Enea Nowa Energia

A key step in the broader strategy of diversifying the Enia Group’s energy mix and increasing its renewable energy assets, as Enia, as one of the largest utility companies in Poland, is actively investing in low-carbon technologies to meet national climate targets and comply with the European Union’s energy directives.

The integration of operational wind farms into the portfolio will strengthen the Group’s capacity in wind power generation, providing immediate returns from established, grid-connected assets. According to them, the newly acquired wind farms will directly contribute to Enia’s sustainable development strategy and its goals under Poland’s Energy Policy 2040, which aim to increase the share of renewable energy in electricity generation.

Wind Portfolio Overview:

  • Grzmiąca
  • Białogard I
  • Kołobrzeg
  • Drawsko II
  • Siemyśl

These projects total 44.7 MW. Additionally, Enea Nowa Energia has acquired 100% of EE Liskowo sp. z o.o., the owner of the 38.8 MW Liskowo wind farm.

The purchase lacks any kind of assets and it acquire 100% of the shares of EE Pommern GmbH and, as a result, indirect stake in 44.7 MW of the 5 operational wind farms, Grzmiąca, Białogard I, Kołobrzeg, Drawsko II and Siemyśl. Furthermore, Enea Nowa Energia has also purchased 100% of EE Liskowo sp. z o.o., the company which developed and owns the Liskowo wind farm with a capacity of 38.8 MW.

Wind Farm Technology

The six wind parks are all situated in the West Pomeranian Voivodeship having been commissioned between 2021 and 2023. They use turbines from Siemens Gamesa, GE and Nordex, and are already feeding clean energy into Poland’s power grid.

EU Energy operates in Poland, where it has been active since 2006 with projects to support education, healthcare and public services. The company has pledged to be good neighbors with community stakeholders as it expands its renewable energy portfolio.

Our project development in Poland will benefit from the additional funding with us pushing ahead on all technology fronts.” Deputy CEO Jens-Peter Zink added, “We will use the money to develop and expand our Polish project development on all technology fronts.

About European Energy

it was established in 2004 by Knud Erik Andersen and Mikael D. Pedersen. The company originated in Denmark and started by developing its first onshore wind projects in Germany.

Since then, it has grown a lot. In 2024, the company was screening projects in more than 25 countries, with development continuing in 23. This worldwide structure illustrates its mission to be a major global player in renewable energy.

EU Energy seeks to drive the global green transition through the development of world-class green energy solutions and aid the world’s move toward a fossil-free society everywhere. Combined with a consistent emphasis on sustainable solutions, technology, and local communities, the company plans for the long term and will be a significant part of the human family’s energy story. has taken its first step into offshore wind operations through the acquisition of Denmark’s Sprogø Windpark from Sund & Bælt Holding A/S.

The wind park, constructed in 2009 as part of the COP15 climate summit, consists of seven MHI Vestas turbines with a combined capacity of 21 MW.

Though once considered large, the Sprogø turbines — each with a capacity of approximately 3 MW — have been surpassed by modern offshore technology. Today’s latest turbines boast capacities of up to 15 MW and rotor diameters reaching 236 meters, reflecting rapid advancements in turbine design and market demand.

This acquisition is a strategic milestone in it’s offshore ambitions and supports its broader renewable energy roadmap. The company has also secured building permits for two major offshore wind projects in Denmark: Lillebælt Syd and Jammerland Bugt. Together, these parks will deliver more than 400 MW of clean energy, capable of powering up to 380,000 households when fully operational in 2029.

The Sprogø Windpark now serves as a vital stepping stone in it’s offshore development strategy, marking the beginning of a new chapter in its mission to drive the global green transition

It’s wind and solar development pipeline in Poland exceeds 5GW and is an affirmation of the business’s commitment to Poland’s green transition.
