What You Will Be Doing as a Remote Wind Hub Technician At GE
Key Responsibilities
Perform routine daily operations at moving wind turbine sites in Texas.
Take care of parts replacement and maintenance and work on quality assurance.
Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic problems, and make necessary repairs.
Work independently with limited supervision, following company’s safety guidelines.
Allow service documentation to be kept on company’s computer based service system.
Team with GE’s remote operations center as necessary.
Handle onsite matters and guarantee best possible turbine availability and contract execution.
Required Qualifications – Who GE is Seeking For:
Travelling Wind Tech technicians Basic Requirements
High School Diploma or GED.
Minimum 1 year of experience as as Wind Technician ORWind Certificate
or Associate Degree in Energy OR 2 Years of experience working with electrical or electronics equipment.
Valid driver’s license.
Be able to physically climb 300’ and lift 50 lbs repeatedly.
Basic computer literacy.
Entry-level Wind Technician Eligibility Requirements
Other: Pass GE Technical Knowledge Assessment.
Flexibility to travel and work rotating shifts or on-call as required.
MUST MEET TURBINE MANUFACTURER’S SAFETY AND WEIGHT REQUIREMENTS (MAX WT 300 LBS WITH GEAR).
Self-motivated, problem-solving attitude, and independence.
Turbine Technician Desired Skills & Experience
Preferable Applicants Will Also Posse ss
Associate or Bachelors in Technical, Electrical, or Electronics discipline.
Possession of Wind Energy Technology or equivalent certification.
Familiarity with variable speed and pitch wind turbines would be advantageous.
Skill in use of hydraulic equipment, heavy machinery and rigging.
Solid experience working in cross-functional teams and strong team communication skills.
