AECOM is seeking a Senior Project Manager to join its Eastern Region Environmental Planning and Permitting (EPP) practice in the Mid-Atlantic EPP department. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record in managing environmental permitting projects, particularly within the offshore wind (OSW) market for energy clients. The successful candidate will collaborate with AECOM’s EPP specialists across the United States to ensure successful project delivery.

Senior Offshore Wind Project Manager Responsibilities:
- Lead, manage and supervise staff and projects managed by those reporting directly to you.
- Must have the ability to manage and execute consulting projects within scope, schedule and budget while learning and utilizing AECOM’s project management systems and software. In that case, the candidate will complete AECOM’s internal project management certification program within the first year of employment.
- Must have the ability to coordinate and lead multidisciplinary project teams in the preparation of local, state and federal permitting processes for offshore wind energy projects. Requires focus on permit applications, BOEM site assessments and technical studies including construction and operation plans, environmental impact statements and terrestrial and marine surveys.
- Must develop, manage and execute business strategies and tactics, proposals, interdisciplinary teams and deliverables.
- Must serve as the primary interface with client and regulatory personnel for complex projects and business development initiatives.
- Foster a high-quality work culture and instill the importance of health and safety within the team.
- Provide technical support to the EPP department and individual project managers and be willing to assist with interdisciplinary business development activities.
- Collaborate with other AECOM offices, practices, and business lines.
- Will be required to provide advice to junior and mid-level staff.
- Conduct client visits and field activities, which will require work outside the office and occasional overnight travel.
Senior Offshore Wind Project Manager Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in environmental science, marine science, ecology, policy, or related geoscience field, plus 8 years of experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Must have 8+ years of experience managing projects and teams to meet scope, schedule, and budget.
- A valid driver’s license and the ability to pass AECOM’s motor vehicle record review are required as a condition of employment.
- Due to the nature of the work, this position will require U.S. citizenship.
Senior Offshore Wind Project Manager Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field preferred.
- 8+ years of professional experience in environmental consulting or energy markets, preferably with applied science in the offshore wind (OSW) sector, including supervision of studies, surveys, and permitting for BOEM, SAP, and COP submittals.
- 10+ years of experience in relevant industry preferred.
- Strong understanding of regulatory and studies for interconnection and landfall.
- Strong technical and regulatory policy background, especially in understanding BOEM submittals and state regulatory policies.
- Must have experience negotiating with regulators and stakeholders
- Must have extensive working knowledge of CWA, ESA, NHPA, NEPA, FERC, and other federal, state, and local regulations.
- Must have proven experience managing teams and assigning staff and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within budget.
- Experience preparing proposals, cost estimates, schedules, and change orders.
- PMP or other project management certification a plus; candidate must complete AECOM Project Management certification.
- Proven experience managing projects, interdisciplinary teams, and workloads, with proven client interfacing skills.
- Highly self-motivated, able to work independently and in a team-oriented environment with minimal supervision.
- Strong organizational and detail-oriented skills.
- Self-driven, hardworking, and goal-oriented.
- Proven ability to build client relationships with the team, office, and company with proven ability to generate new business.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written (writing samples required).
- Occasional overnight travel may be required.
- Excellent references.

AECOM Job Compensation:
- Compensation offered will be determined based on position and personal qualifications. Expected salary range is $106,800.34 – $171,809.24.
