Travelling Wind turbine technician Job Responsibilities
Ability to travel significantly (100%) throughout the U.S. to different locations of wind farms including by air and by ground.
Perform owner required rope access LOTO for GE wind turbines to include blade repair operations.
Supervise confined space work during internal blade repair activities to maintain safe and compliant operations.
Assist the blade repair team when working at height and on the ground.
Interact with customers when necessary on site in a professional and courteous manner.
Assist with blade access platform (basket system) set-up, operation, rig down and tag-lines support.
Work with the team to identify repairs and troubleshoot repair scope issues.
Keep a tidy assortment of on site tools and necessary repair equipment.
Carry out any other operational support duties as required by the team leader.
Provide first class customer service in accordance with all site rules and safety guidelines.
Act in a professional manner both on and off of the work site, while caring for company assets and reputation.
Adhere to personal, team, and site safety standards at all times.
Participate in a diverse and active workplace.
Wind Energy Jobs With Travel Qualifications Needed
Demonstrated success in high-pace, team-centric setting with excellent critical thinking and problem resolution skills.
GE LOTO certification valid (NAM Blade LOTO, NAM Tech Essentials or RELC Tech Essentials) with provable documentation.
Must be GE Qualified or former GE employee with certs and known via Resimer MAVCore Team!
GWO Basic Safety Training, OSHA 10, NFPA 70E and Confined Space certification (current or ability to obtain if needed).
Proficient in responsible operation of power hand tools.
Experience Cosmetic and composite blade repair techniques and specifications preferred but not required.
Strong ability to read and comprehend complex technical drawings and process documentation.
You are comfortable with basic IT, and understand how to use an email, the internet, and iPad.
Desire and capacity to work for long periods in the field, remote from home.
Nimble, able to turn on a dime, project scope and time frame wise.
Excellent team player and can take direction and help the team to be successful.
Must have a valid, current driver’s license.
Are in good physical condition and physically fit to perform all of the job duties; climbing of ladder 300 feet daily multiple times a day, bending, crawling, stooping, lifting up to 75lbs.
Eligible to work in the U.S. or Canada, no visas it to work.
