Offshore Wind Technician Job Summary: Power America From 400 Feet Up
Dominion Energy is leading the way in offshore wind development and we are hiring Offshore Wind Technicians I who are ready to work at sea, climb up to 400 feet, and help maintain the largest clean energy projects on the East Coast.
This position assists with the maintenance, safety monitoring, and data collection on turbines and substations and is vital in meeting NERC compliance and BES cybersecurity requirements. You will also trouble shoot, service and improve the next generation of wind turbine systems.
Offshore Wind Technician Jo Responsibilities
Wind Technician Jobs Core Duties
Regular and urgent maintenance (also relating to health and safety) of offshore wind turbines
Climb and inspect 400 ft towers or less
Substitution of Turbine Parts: Mechanical, Electrical and Hydraulic
-Experience working with substation and fiber optic systems
Support with BES Asset cybersecurity compliance
Gather – and report turbine data for further analyzing results
Technical Support For Wind Turbine maintenance
Troubleshoot turbine and substation equipment malfunctions
Aid in troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
Elevate open issues to the engineering team
Wind Tech Jobs East Coast Requirements
Two year associate degree OR equivalent military/technical work experience (E3-E5, W1-W2, O1-O3)
0-2 years of experience in similar technical area (wind, military, automotive or industrial)
Previous experience with field service of wind power strongly preferred
Offshore Wind Technician Skills & Physical Requirements
Must-Have Skills As a Wind Technician
Hands-on experience in mechanical/electrical systems
Good communication and customer skills
Physical capability of performing in limited space and environmental extremes
Computer proficiency (MS Office Suite)
Physical Fitness Requirements
Current medical certificate required
A fitness test must be passed every 2 years
Equipment should only be used by individuals under 265 lbs.
Ordinarily must climb 267 or more rung steps to reach the workplace or workplace?
Testing Requirement for wind turbine technician
Passing the EEI TECH Test is required for this position.

Up to 25% travel
Chemical, high noise, vibration Exposures
Hours: Lengthy hours, extra hours on weekends, and on call for emergencies as required
