Remote Wind Turbine Technician Jobs Responsibilities

• 100% travel supporting projects throughout North America. Also, may need to work overtime and irregular hours.
• Comply with all Vestas safety protocols and be an ambassador for a culture of safety.
• Intermediate wind turbine installation and maintenance functions
• Skilled in the use of power tools, diagnostic tools, and turbine systems.
• Identify and troubleshoot common technical issues, escalating complex issues to others as necessary.
• Listen and document everything on SAP in the company systems.
• Encourage teamwork, train junior techs/peers, and cooperate with others.
• Interact with customers, provide professional service and escalate more complex issues as necessary.

Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Preferred: Wind technician training or other post-secondary education, trade school or college OR minimum two years of work experience in wind.
• Proficient in electrical systems, reading electrical schematics
• Experience with hydraulic tools, power torque tools, and diagnostic devices (fluke meter, pressure gauge, etc).
• Familiarity with Industrial Safety Procedures (Confined Space, Lockout/Tagout, fall protection).
• Current Driver’s License and eligible to obtain a passport
• Ability to pay close attention to detail, work as a team member, and exercise professionalism.
• Strong Computer skills and ability to read data and designs.

Physical demands and competencies

1. Ascend ladders and stairs as high as 125 meters
2. Ability to lift and carry 50 lbs., kneel, stoop, and remain standing for long periods;
3. Work in confined spaces, more than 100 meters high and all weather conditions.
4. To undergo training for high-angle rescue or other safety courses.
5. Ability to work with little to no supervision and do remote work
6. Fluent in written and spoken English is a must.
