Key Responsibilities
The person who is responsible for the wind turbines working at full capacity properly is known as a wind turbine technician. Your day-to-day work will include:
- Maintenance, repair & troubleshooting to optimize turbine performance and reliability
- Inspection for safety and assurance of compliance with standards.
- Capturing all the maintenance actions for purposes of performance tracking over time.
- Observing stringent safety protocols and brazing.
- Supporting troubleshooting to identify root causes/equipment failures and help improve reliability.
- Working with engineers and field teams to improve operational practices.
Required Skills and Competencies
- Proven technical and troubleshooting abilities.
- Knowledge with hand tools and power saws.
- Attention to detail and the ability to work independently
Physically capable of:
- Lifting up to 50 pounds
- Climbing 300-foot ladders
- Outdoor work, weather any and all conditions
Education Requirements
- Graduation from high school or the equivalent; technical or college education is desirable and a plus.

Wind Technician Salary Texas
- Base Salary: $25–$54/hr (OE)
- Performance Bonuses: up to 5% per annum + 5% availability bonus
- On-call pay for extra support
