Job Responsibilities

What will I do as a wind turbine technician?

Wind turbine maintenance; to include inspections on a regular basis and repairs as necessary

Troubleshooting electrical and mechanical systems

Diagnosing and remedying turbine component faults by diagnostic tools

Climbing—Turbines Up to 300 feet, safely with fall protection systems

Dealing with SCADA supervisory systems and technologic software

Meeting safety and environmental requirements

Working with engineers and wind farm management to identify efficiency opportunities

Requirements What We’re Looking For

2 plus years experience wind technician or wind turbine technician

Technical or associate degree in renewable energy, wind power technology, or electrical systems

GWO certificates (Working at Heights, First Aid, Fire Awareness) would be desirable

In good physical condition and able to climb turbine towers up to 300 feet.

Current driver’s license and clear driving record

Good mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical understanding

Knowledge of wind turbine and safety equipment maintenance processes
