Senior Wind Technician – Travel! Are you an ambitious and a skilled wind technician ready to take your career to the next level with a global leader in renewable energy in USA? A hands-on role that plays a critical role in ensuring maximum performance and reliability at traveling wind farms. This position will be responsible from daily turbine operations to scheduled maintenance, safety compliance, quality assurance and warranty repairs. The travelling Wind Technician will have to work closely with the Resource Manager and Site Leadership to meet contractual obligations, meet project deadlines and maintain GE Vern ova’s Way standards.

Senior Wind Technician Jobs Requirements – Travel (United States)
- As a Senior Wind Technician (travel-based role), you will perform the following tasks:
- Collaborate with as a Resource Manager and Site Leadership to meet contractual requirements
- Have to maintain daily operational activities, including servicing electrical and mechanical components on GE wind turbine generators across North America.
- Have to assist with all aspects of site preparation, including coordinat ing labor and materials with minimal supervision.
- Need to attend pre-job meetings to review schedules, weather conditions, LOTO (Lock Out Tag Out) procedures, potential hazards, and site-specific/customer requirements.
- have to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues on wind turbines, including conducting detailed electrical diagnostics.
- Perform maintenance, repairs, and replacement of parts to resolve wind turbine malfunctions.
- All work performed using company-provided technology must be properly documented.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent, and
- At least 4 years of experience as a wind technician, and
- Successfully completed a technical knowledge assessment
Or
- At least 4 years of experience as an electromechanical technician, and
- Successfully completed a technical knowledge assessment
For Senior Wind Technician Jobs Requirements
- Must have possess and maintain a valid driver’s license.
- Most required that is willing and able to travel 100% of the time as required.
- Must be capable of regularly lifting up to 50 lbs and climbing wind turbine towers up to 300 feet.
- Meet manufacturer-specified weight limits, not exceeding 300 lbs including all required climbing gear.
- Able to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawings.
- Need to proficient in understanding technical manuals, maintenance guides, and repair procedures.
- Have to be Committed to following internal company policies and Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) regulations.
- Have to work in diverse outdoor environments and customer facilities, including industrial, manufacturing, and power generation sites.
- And be flexible availability to work weekends, travel on short notice, support rotating shifts, and be on-call as site needs dictate.
Desired Characteristics for travel wind technician jobs:
- Must have an associate degree in wind energy, electrical technology, mechanical technology, or electromechanical field from an accredited college or university or technical certification in wind energy.
- Must have strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of personnel, both on-site and off-site.
- have to be self-motivated with a proven ability to take initiative and work independently without direct supervision.
- Must have working experience at heights using appropriate electrical PPE and safety equipment.
- Must have practical experience with GE wind turbine electrical systems and troubleshooting across multiple platforms.
- Must have proven mechanical skills in wind turbine systems.
- And must be familiar with standard wind industry equipment, rigging practices, and lifting equipment.
Compensation & Benefits – GE Vernova Salary
- Basic Pay Range: from $41.52 – $46.57 hourly
- Original compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and skill level.
