This position is within the Grid Solutions business of GE Vernova, and requires close cooperation with our customers and engineering department for the installation, maintenance and upgrading of power transformers. You will embrace rotational work schedules (4w/1w across Australia and home), national travel and the commitment to building a career in a worldwide leading group.
GE Power Specialist Responsible For:
Constructing, installing, and operating power transformer (PTR) sets
Vacuum process rigs and control equipment being used
Performing corrective maintenance and testing
Directing or supervising site crew operations, as required
Daily EHS/HSE — Safety Morning Meetings & Compliance.
Working together on technical documentation and inspection procedure
Remote Jobs Huston, Texas, USA At A Glance
- Based in Humble/Houston, TX
- Up to 80% travel throughout North America
- Rotating: after 5 weeks onsite, you can take 1 week remote
- On location: 12 hour days, 6 days a week
Power Transformer Specialist Requirements and Qualifications
Experience Bilingual Advanced 5+ years of field service experience (ideally transformers or HV Equipment)
Knowledge of eBOP systems, breakers and switchgear
Electrical / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent formal qualification preferred
Strong mechanical skills or equivalent military/technical training
CDL preferred or willingness to get license
Desired Skills for Texas Energy Jobs
Leadership of field teams without supervision
Experience with electrical schematics & one line diagrams.
Good communication and computer skills
Devotion to safe production, documentation, and quality levels
